DELTA DA MAX.

1) Dimension d1 manufactured for bore H8
2) Only to be used when design has limited dimensions

DELTA torque limiters series DA

2 - Friction discs

High-performance resin/rubber bound friction material without metal content. High temperature stable, pressure and wear resisting. Special friction discs for continuous slip, oil running or special lubricating materials available on request.

3 - Bushing for centering drive part

Bronze bushing with good slide and wear properties is used for centering. All torque limiters are equipped with the longest possible bushing. Shorter bushing for smaller driven parts must be specially ordered. The calculation of the length of the bushing is as follows:

length of bushing = 1.5 x s1 + b1 (see dimensions).

For high radial loads, high slip frequency and increased concentricity (gears), size 1 – 5 torque limiters with needle bearings instead of centering guide bushes may be used (see page 11).

5 - Disc spring layers

For torque limiters three different layers of disc springs are possible.

  1. Low torque range with high friction:
Disc springs in single layer for torque limiters DA 00 to DA 10
  2. Medium torque range with medium friction:
Disc springs in double layers for torque limiters DA 00 to DA 10
  3. High torque range with low friction:
Disc springs in triple layer for torque limiters DA 0 to DA 5

In case of application c, the width of the driving part is reduced and it should only be used when the dimensions of the construction are limited. Special adjustment unit is necessary.

Possible application of disc spring

Experience shows that wear is lower when single disc springs are used, when double springs are used there is more wear and when triple springs are used, wear is much greater. Generally the time of wear and destruction of a friction disc depends on the adjusted torque, the turning speed, the time of slippage and the frequency of slippage

7 - Special adjustment nuts

In the lowest torque ranges and/or at higher revolutions, the torque limiter DELTA DA 0 to 5 requires a special adjustment nut with tan gential clamping
