DELTA DAS overload couplings

Backlash-free overload system in ratcheting or synchronous version

DELTA  DAS  overload  couplings  operate  on  the  spring- loaded  ball-in-detent  principle  and  are  used  mainly  in machines that require an absolute emergency stop ele- ment. Their main characteristics are backlash-free oper- ation and the high rigidity of their components, which en- sure constant, reliable operation during the entire service life of the machine. Their operating principle allows the very precise setting of maximum permissible torque and therefore optimum utilisation of the entire machine.

Ratchet version DK

If the torque exceeds the preset value, a relative movement between the  driving  and  driven  elements  occurs.  Transmissible  torque  is  re- duced to a small residual value.

The bearings are displaced from the recesses in the locking disc. When the load returns to the permissible range, the bearings can re-engage in the disc recesses.

Synchronous version SK

If the torque exceeds the preset value, a relative movement between the  driving  and  driven  elements  occurs.  Transmissible  torque  is  re- duced to a small residual value.

The bearings are displaced from the recesses in the locking disc. When the load returns to the permissible range, the bearings – due to the special pitch of the disc recesses – can only re-engage after a further rotation of 360°. Driving and driven elements are always in the same position relative to each other (other engagement positions such as 180° are also possible).
